Joe started boxing at the age of 9 when his father introduced him and his brother to an old school trainer by the name of “Hook” O’Malley. From that point, his interest was fueled by the competitive nature and subtle strategies of the sport. Joe competed in many tournaments including numerous Keystone State Games and Golden Glove competitions. His amateur boxing career ended as a member of Penn State's 1995 Boxing Team with an amateur record of 66 wins with 2 losses. Following college, Joe opted to mix his boxing experience with 22 years of martial arts experience and pursue consulting opportunities as a Defensive Tactics Instructor for both local and state law enforcement. Although, boxing and martial arts have taken a backseat to career and family they continue to remain passionate hobbies.
